Since approximately 1991 I have had the opportunity to teach outside my professional domain as a high-school teacher.  Much of this was as a teacher-trainer in the Hands-On Universe program, originally funded by several grants from the National Science Foundation.  There have been additional opportunities to train teachers at Jackson State University and in several other countries, most notably the south american country of Chile.  I was also involved as a curriculum writer and teacher in the Universe Quest program.  Finally, I regularly teach an adult astronomy course in the local community education program.  My observatory played or plays an important role in some but not all of these activities.  On the pages under this menu I give information about each of these opportunities showing photos in some cases and links to relevant websites.
